Welcome to the Iron County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office. The Iron County Prosecuting Attorney is an elected Iron County official serving a four-year term. The Iron County Prosecuting Attorney is responsible for filling a variety of functions, which include, but are not limited to:

Review and authorize felony and misdemeanor charges in adult criminal cases and in juvenile delinquency cases;

Appear at and prosecute all criminal cases in Iron County on behalf of the State of Michigan;
- Provide notice to crime victims of victim rights, case progress, and restitution information;
- Represent Iron County’s interest in civil issues, if designated by the Iron County Board of
Commissioners; - Participate in mental health commitment proceedings;
- Represent the State of Michigan and Iron County in personal protection order violation cases;
- Appear at formal hearings on civil infraction;

Represent the Iron County Friend of the Court in child support enforcement actions, if requested to do so.

- court escorts;
- restitution information and assistance;
- orientation to the courtroom setting and information on the criminal process;
- community education regarding victim rights;
